City closures for Thanksgiving announced

City hall and other city administration offices will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 25, as well as the following day, Friday, Nov. 26. Certain other city facilities will have varied holiday schedules.

In addition, some city services will have adjusted schedules that week to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday, according to a press release issued by the city.

The Roswell Public Library and the Roswell Museum  will each be closed that Thursday and Friday and will reopen Saturday, Nov. 27. The Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center (10 a.m.-6 p.m.), Spring River Zoo (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) and Roswell Visitor Center (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, but will be open Friday, Nov. 26. The Roswell Adult Center will be closed during the long holiday weekend as it is currently open only on Wednesdays.

City bus service and trash pickup will be altered because of the holiday.

Roswell Transit will not operate buses on Thanksgiving Day. Buses will be in operation Friday on Main Street. The buses will run from 9:08 a.m. to 5:11 p.m. Call-in pick-up requests on other streets will not be available.

The Solid Waste Department’s trash pickup for the week of Nov. 22 has been adjusted. Areas normally picked up Monday and Thursday will have their trash containers picked up Monday and Wednesday. Areas normally picked up Tuesday and Friday will have their trash containers picked up Tuesday and Saturday.

The landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday, but will reopen Saturday, Nov. 27.
