William R. “Randy” Maxey

The family of William R. “Randy” Maxey, 65, has announced that he passed away on November 13, 2021 at Mt. View Hospital in Las Cruces.

Randy was born February 6, 1956 in Portales, NM.  He attended his school years in Zuni, NM, Las Cruces, NM, Tucson, AZ and Roswell, NM. and graduated from Roswell High School in 1974.  During his time in high school Randy was involved in JROTC and band. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy.  Randy served our country for 32 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer.  Most of his military career was served while he was based in Japan.  After his Navy retirement, he worked with the Las Cruces Police Department where he served as a Police Services Specialist.
Randy’s children, Naomi C. Molina, Eagan, MN, and Kenneth W. Maxey (Kana), San Diego, CA. and grandchildren Miya, Emma and Ashley Molina, Eagan, MN and Kenji and Kazuo Maxey, San Diego, CA. invite friends and family to join us for a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, December 4th from 11:00 am to 3:00pm at The Ramada Palms, 201 E. University Ave., Las Cruces, NM.

A formal military burial service will be held on Monday, December 6th  at 11:00 a.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX.  Arrangements have been made by La Paz-Graham’s Funeral Home, 555 West Amador Las Cruces NM, 88005. 575-526-6891 .
