June Ardell Eckstein
1927-2021

June has left the building and has a new address. She is now in Heaven with her Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus. June has always wanted to live in a gated community.

There will be a Memorial Service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on West Country Club Road in Roswell, NM, on Saturday, January 15, 2021, at 2:00 PM.

June lived her life as an example for all of us. She never spoke ill of anyone. She loved her family with a love that was deep, unconditional, and unselfish. June always put others first and wanted no more in life than to have her family and friends happy. One of her greatest joys was visiting, and she loved to laugh. She also loved an excellent pinochle game.

June was born in Minnesota on June 15. 1927, to Mariana and Arthur Simonson. She had one younger sister, Velva Jean (Jeannie), whom she adored. June left Minnesota for Seattle, Washington, and married in 1943. She had three children, Michael, Joanne, and Patricia. In 1963, June met John (Jack) Eckstein, the love of her life. They were married fifty-eight years.

They both worked for Safeway, June for thirty years, and John for forty. June retired in 1989 and John in 1991. After retirement, they spent many happy years traveling around the country. They Traveled first by motorcycle and later in a motor home. They settled in Roswell, NM, to care for John’s mother and remained there.
