Cecil Gene Graves

Cecil Gene Graves, 91, of Roswell, NM, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Roswell, NM.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Calvary Chapel of Roswell, NM, 2901 W 4th St, with Pastor Mike Nasci of Calvary Chapel officiating. Graveside service will follow at General Douglas L McBride Veterans Cemetery located within South Park Cemetery.

In Texline, TX, Cecil was born as the sole child to Cecil P and Selma Graves on May 21, 1930. He attended Roswell High, then met Mary Dean Miller, and fell deeply in love. On September 8, 1951, they united in marriage in Roswell, NM. Cecil served his country in the Army National Guard and worked as a lineman for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. for over 30 years. He then worked as a Postal Star Route Carrier with his beloved wife. Cecil loved Jesus with all his heart and served his church family by holding deacon and co-youth leader positions with his wife at Bethel Baptist Church of Roswell, NM. He also served as a deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church in Roswell, NM.

Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dean Graves; father, Cecil P Graves; and mother, Selma Graves.

Cecil is survived by his sons: Larry Gene Graves and spouse Matilda Lou; and Gary Wayne Graves, who has since passed and joined his dad in Heaven on November 29, 2021;and his daughter-in-law, Irish Janile; and one grandson, Tyler Gene Graves. Cecil is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Cecil’s name at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. The money will be donated to Calvary Chapel Estancia Valley to help further the Kingdom of Christ.

A Reception and meal in Cecil and Gary’s honor will be held following the service at La Iglesia Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus, 2600 South Union, Roswell, NM. The family will appreciate your presence.
