The Chaves County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that deputies are following up on several leads related to the discovery of an apparent murder victim.
Undersheriff Charles Yslas said Thursday deputies were working on obtaining warrants in connection with the investigation into the death of a woman in her 50s, whose body was found on U.S. 380 East at mile marker 168 earlier that day.
